Drupal 7 themes have extended the new powers given to themers in Drupal 6 at the theme level by giving even more power to themers in the API, and even now allows control within the Drupal UI. These new UI controls can be see in Buzzr and Acquia's Drupal Gardens hosting, which both use Drupal 7 on their backend.

*Please Note - Some people may believe that a Drupal theme is called a Drupal template. This really isn't the case, but if you are here looking for Drupal 7 templates, you are in the right place though. We just call them themes as a standard in the Drupal community.
